CGHS reimburses thyroid surgery at fixed package rates that depend on how much of the thyroid is removed.
CGHS Thyroidectomy Package Rates
- Hemithyroidectomy, Non-NABH — Rs 9,500
- Hemithyroidectomy, NABH — Rs 10,925
- Subtotal thyroidectomy, Non-NABH — Rs 13,053
- Total thyroidectomy, Non-NABH — Rs 19,000
- Total thyroidectomy, NABH — Rs 21,850
- Total thyroidectomy with block dissection, Non-NABH — Rs 26,450
Rates shown are as per the CGHS package rates (OM dated 01.10.2014 schedule, Delhi/NCR list); CGHS notified a revised schedule effective October 2025 (2014 schedule, revised Oct 2025) and are subject to periodic revision. Always verify the latest approved rates on the official source.
How CGHS Package Rates Work
A CGHS package rate is all-inclusive of admission, surgeon and anaesthetist charges, operation theatre, nursing, routine investigations, medicines and accommodation for the standard stay. NABH-hospital rates are set about 15% higher than non-NABH.
These figures reflect the 2014 schedule. CGHS revised its rates with effect from October 2025, so confirm the current figure for your CGHS city on the official portal.
Referral and Prior Permission
Planned major procedures need a referral from the CGHS wellness centre and prior permission. Emergency treatment at an empanelled hospital is reimbursed up to CGHS rates without prior permission.
