CGHS reimburses diagnostic imaging at fixed rates. Imaging is itemised by body part and whether contrast is used, rather than a single or CT rate.
CGHS Imaging Rates (Examples, Non-NABH / NABH)
- MRI brain, without contrast — Rs 2,125 / 2,500
- MRI brain, with contrast — Rs 2,848 / 3,350
- head, without contrast — Rs 880 / 1,035
- CT scan whole abdomen, with contrast — Rs 4,500 / 5,175
- (USG) whole abdomen — Rs 680 / 800
- Pelvic ultrasound (USG) — Rs 425 / 500
Rates shown are as per the CGHS package rates (Office Memorandum dated 01.10.2014 schedule, Delhi/NCR list); CGHS notified a revised schedule effective October 2025 (2014 schedule, revised Oct 2025) and are subject to periodic revision. Always verify the latest approved rates on the official source.
How CGHS Package Rates Work
A CGHS package rate is all-inclusive of admission, surgeon and anaesthetist charges, operation theatre, nursing, routine investigations, medicines and accommodation for the standard length of stay. Rates for NABH-accredited hospitals are set about 15% higher than the non-NABH rate.
Figures here reflect the long-standing 2014 schedule. CGHS revised its rate schedule with effect from October 2025, so confirm the current figure for your CGHS city on the official portal before treatment.
