We availed of Dr Manish ji Diwakar's services for total knee replacement for both knees for my wife using robotics. He excels in a type of surgery known as subvastus approach. In this, the knee is operated upon without cutting any muscle. Thus there is no weakening of muscles, less bleeding and faster post-operative recovery. This type of surgery requires considerably more expertise as well as more time and effort on the operation table. It is ironical that this is not promoted by top hospitals in Ahmedabad, though the city is a hub for knee surgery. In contrast, the subvastus approach is widely used in hospitals like Bombay Hospital, Breach Candy, Reliance etc. in Mumbai and in top hospitals in Singapore. Dr Diwakar took lot of care from before the hospital admission, throughout the hospital stay and beyond.
